A big green investment would bring big rewards, according to a new study.
The theoretical $100 billion investment would result in 2 million U.S. jobs over two years.
The Portland Business Journal reports that the study estimates the investment in going green would mean $1.2 billion and 27,000 new jobs to Oregon alone.
The study was prepared by the Political Economy Research Institute at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and the Center for American Progress and backed by labor unions, think tanks and environmental groups.
